component cables worth the buy?

is it worth getting these if i have an HDTV does it really make a noticeable difference or nocomponent cables worth the buy?
If you have an HDTV, yes the component cable is a very good solutioncomponent cables worth the buy?
If you can use them buy themThere's no reason not to
I asked for component cables for my wii and a hdmi cable for my PS3 ysterday at my local gamespot (gettin a shiny new 40'' 1080p tv tomorrow :D) and the guy at the counter told me not to bother with the component cables. He said that the differance in picture quality is extremely minor. So I dunno :sGood thread, saved me having to make one :D

the bigga the tv, the more u can notice the aliasing effects (the jaggedness of stuff... like ''jasonguy's'' user icon up there) unless they used good antialiasing ...hopefully
Be warned though that some VC games don't work with some TV's through the component cable. However, if this happens, you can just hook the composite cable back up again. ;)
The component cables actually make a noticeable difference regardless of whether you have an HDTV or not. I've used the component cables on an SDTV set for games like Baiten Kaitos, and the resulting image has much brighter, vibrant colors and crisper lines than does the composite cable. I also use the component cables on my HDTV, but the resolution difference between 480i and 480p only results in slightly crisper edges which are barely noticeable in still images. So to answer your question, the resolution upgrade is nice, but the component cables are primarily worth the buy for their separated chrominance and luminance signals, which results in a significant image upgrade from the signal type alone. You can probably find comparison screens between the two cable types by doing some searching, but the easiest way would just be to buy the cables, see if you notice a difference with them plugged in, and return them if you don't think it's worth the money.
Here is a video so you can compare for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6umnBY8Eq_k
I have the cables and they absolutely make a difference... if you can buy them, then go for it.. u wont be dissapointed
HDTV? Then yes.

Compsite signal combines the chrominence and luminence and then the TV has to take them apart and that is never going to be as good as the chrominence and luminence being separate, which is how component works. Component cable have the chrominence and luminence on separate channels so you get a much better picture. That video the person linked to gives you a really good comparison of the difference and component looks much better.-Shark2k
even though it doesnt have hd support
