Do developers learn from other developer ...

For example, when you look at Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, EA put together a great first-person shooter with great motion-controls. And when you play it, you sort of get the sense that they may have learned a bit from playing Metroid Prime 3. This got me to wondering: How often does this occur? Do all developers research other games in order to figure out what they could do to improve their own games?Ubisoft claims that their upcoming sequel to Red Steel is going to be vastly improved over its predeccesor... Well, I for one hope that the development team has been playing hours and hours of Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 so they can see how a FPS game on the wii should be made.Do developers learn from other developer ...
Nintendo has been willing to share it's design methods to get the Wii games goingAlso some devs have teamed up with Nintendo to form their own studios. Namco/Bandai created a studio with Nintendo to create games.Do developers learn from other developer ...
lol yeah I hope Ubisoft has been playing some MOH. MOH has really good controls but its surely not flawless hopefully RS2 will improve on this (more levels online, better campaign, more game modes, different weapons, more customizeable characters)
There's probably some prima donna programmers out there who don't bother what other people are doing, but I bet most developers play the other guys' games to see what the competition is up to.
