After just getting done playing with a bunch of lag hackers on Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, I'm glad they have friend codes on the Wii. It's hilarious to be called ''noobs'' by a bunch of cheaters. It's Genius. The way I see it, there are two ways to moderate an online game; you can either spend a lot of money paying real people to ban stupid kids, or you can restrict it enough so that swearing or sexual references aren't even an option. And with Smash Bros Brawl as an example, the whole ''replaces you with a computer'' thing will discourage latency tricks as well. I'm sure online gamers will find SOMETHING to exploit, but I think the chances of it are greatly reduced with thier set-up.Nintendo is a great company.Friend codes are a Great Idea
to be honest i would rather have gamertags...friend codes are too difficult to enter and rememberFriend codes are a Great Idea

I don't mind Friend Codes. It'd be nice to have something a bit easier, but there's nothing wrong with them.

Friend codes don't stop people swearing. The lack of a headset does
I'm a supporter of the Friend Code, from an ex-Live user. I like having the morons on there silenced.

As long as games have a ''Strangers Match'' option, I'm happy.I really get sick of people cussing and crap online...over a GAME, no less. I think people should just DEAL WITH IT if they die (on a video game).
not a big fan but they are all right. what i really dont like is a different code for every game it becomes a chore every time you and friends get a new game. and the truth about people cursing is in life most people do it so why wouldnt they do it online
I think Gamertags are a better idea. I don't want to remember my friends as 7836503654743569043697436730654357690743690. I want to remember them as ''Bigguy'' or ''Killer7''.

i know, and i dont see why ppl complain so much about FC, after all, most online games have the option of playing with random ppl too...
after playing Halo 2 %26 3 and Gears constantly online, and now COD4... I very much appreciate not having to listen to pre-pubescent brats and their tough guy talk. Nothing worse than having to listen to a bunch of kids cursing everyone off because they just learned how to speak that way, and they think it's cool. Especially when they sound like they're all on helium.
Yes it's true that it's annoying to play and ban trash talking users. But friend codes are hardly the way to go about doing such a thing. I have a blog about this if you wish to read it all(sort of long).
