[QUOTE=''Cyber-''] How would they do it? Would they have classes, professions, or factions? Would Legendaries be allowed? How many moves would your Pokemon have? Each is lead by a NPC who must be defeated to earn the badge. Each badge would increase your character's highest possible level of achievement. That would follow the mains eries basic structure and give a visible marking on your character of their achievement.I think a class based system would work best, each player chooses their class at the start. Each class would increase the player's ability to capture a pokemon that coresponds to the players class. for example, if the player choose their class as ''plant'', all plant pokemon would be easier to catch. It would also determine their intial pokemon choice. Once a player obtains a new badge perhaps they can then alter their class, if they choose, to broaden their pokemon collection. Collecting all the badges and maxing out your exp. level would then allow a player to become a Legendary class, giving them the ability to capture a Legendary pokemon. The Legendary pokemon would have to remain very difficult to find, to reduce their overuse in the game. Trainers should be able to challenge other trainers at any point for Pokemon, the winner can choose a pokemon from the loser's collection. This would add a level of risk to battles, but players would be made aware of each other's level before the battle occurs. If somebody rejects a challenge it should not effect their stats in anyway. Also, to protect the newbies, losers in battle must have 10+ pokemon before they forfit theirs to the winner of a battle. Anyone who wins a challenge against a trainer with 9 or less pokemon gets increased exp. points instead. To fit with this system trainers would carry all their pokemon at all times, but have a subsection where a limited amount are available for battle. They can be swapped on the fly on the overworld, elminating the annoying trek to a pokemon office. I also think the pokemon's moves should be increased, to up variety. And my final thought is that the world should contain only the classic 150 pokemon, leaving the others to be added during expansion packs and sequels. If there was a Pokemon MMORPG how would ...
That's actually a pretty cool idea! I don't know about having to lose pokemon just because of one battle, but that could definitely be worked into some kind of tournament mode where the winner can steal pokemon. I think it would be cool to have the battles be at least a little bit more real time. Not FULL real time, mind you, but something like the Final Fantasy time mechanic worked in there...Good idea Jaycromer!
they just dont have what it takes to make a 3d pokemon game.its that simple. the pokemon franchize has been out for 10 years or so ,if they could they would have done it till now ,its even more difficult to see an mmorpg pokemon .first ask for an rpg pokemon then an mmo unless you want one of the ds games to be made mmo hehe
Obviously this would have to be debuted with a HDD. There simply is no other way. I dont think people should lose Pokemon unless there is some sort ''pink slip'' contest. As for Legendaries thats one hell of a problem. The best way would be before you battle if either person has a Legendary you can decide before hand if there should be legendaries allowed and how many. Also they should make it so if you really work hard regular pokemon can beat legendaries.I think they should try and make it as similar to the Show and respect to the older games. I am pretty sure the show talked about making it possible to switch out Pokemon from your Poke'dex. Speaking of Poke'dex it is possible that it can be completely controlled by the DS or an on screen menu. Using the DS will have extra features. Not to mention you can use the voice chat and keyboard on the DS. There would need to be a headset and an onscreen keyboard or the option to plug in a keyboard to the wii. The more features the better esp with an MMO.There should be quest to bring things in the mix. There should be tournaments including the big Pokemon tournament. WHen you challenge other people you actually get EXP and a ranking.
