No, those are to get computers online wirelessly (with a wireless router or hot spot)HEREAmazon still has them in stock, also try to tell your Mom that routers are a hardware firewall which help protect you, not make you unsafe.

There are but they're only 5 or ten bucks cheaper and don't have the same sort of recommendations
I would consider the lan adaptor... The USB connector is EXTREMELY unreliable, to the point that Nintendo has stopped producing them.I have one, and I have no end of problems.
