Which had a better game library: Gamecub ...

I know it's still early in the Wii's lifespan and all, but I'm starting to doubt that the Wii is even going to have the robust lineup that even the Gamecube did. So far, the only Wii exclusive experiences have been Super Mario Galaxy, Metriod Prime 3, Warioware, Wii Sports, Wiiplay and Zack %26 Wiki, of games even worth mentioning. Yes, I know that Smash Brothers will soon be part of that list as well. At least with the Gamecube, you had exclusive experiences and decent ports of big third party games, but with the Wii, you don't even get those.Honestly, what's on the horizon for the Wii? Wiifit looks cool but it's hardy the experience that many of us who come to this site are looking for. Star Wars: Force Unleashed sounded awesome with Wiimote lightsaber battles, until I learned that 1:1 movement ratio with the Wiimote is impossible...which will make the Wiimote lightsaber battles pretty much the same experience as in Red Steel. New Metriods and Zeldas before the end of the Wii's life are a given but we can already imagine how those are going to turn out, based on Corruption and Twilight Princess. Mariokart will be Mariokart; not even the online feature is all that exciting now that the DS has had it for a while.I know most of you will respond with ''If you don't like the Wii then F*** off!'' or ''The Wiimote makes every experience unique'' Alot of you will point out the Wii's backward compatibility and VC, but I don't feel that counts, because there is little to no new software coming out for either GC or the VC. Alot of you won't read this entire post. That's fine, I am talking to Nintendo fanboys. But a few of you must have intelligent arguments as to why you feel I'm wrong. I would love to be proven wrong, as well. Thus the reason for this post.So what's coming out for Wii that is an experience head and shoulders above anything else If the current trend with Wii games continues, I believe the Gamecube library will a much better library after the test of time...no matter how many Wiis Nintendo sells. Which had a better game library: Gamecub ...
So far. WiiWhich had a better game library: Gamecub ...
Well comparing a 5 year old with a 1 year old console is never a valid comparison. As for the future of the Wii compared to the GC, I can almost guarantee it will have a better library. Third party support for the Wii is also starting to increase, as the Wii userbase is already huge and constantly growing which gets developers more interested. It will definitely be much better than 2007 though because back then no one was expecting the Wii to be so popular, thus didn't put their best titles on the console. For example like I've said quite alot, the Fatal Frame and Monster Hunter series is moving exclusive to Wii when it was previously only on Sony platforms. Just look at the PS2 and DS success - the highest selling systems that over time have arguably the best games out there. DS especially, had a first year very similar to the Wii.One thing I like considering about the future of quality Wii titles is the difference between first years of other Nintendo consoles. In the Wii's first year, we got the Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Paper Mario etc. game that Nintendo always makes every generation. With Smash Bros and Mario Kart just around the corner, after that there's a whole range of franchises for them to work on to cater the hardcore audience. Animal Crossing, Kid Icarus, F-Zero, Pikmin, Starfox, Donkey Kong etc etc.See link in sig, there's some great games coming out in 2008 and beyond, alot of which seem to be third party titles, and if were made last year probably would have been total crap.
Hmm...that's an easy question for me.
I had never had a GC before so i will vote for Wii.

I always say this: the Wii is not necessarily a bad console, it just isn't using its maximum potential. And, I know everyone is gonna attack me for saying this but, quite honestly, I don't think the Wii is for hardcore gamers, more for like casual ones. You don't need a lot of money to get the Wii and use it properly. Seeing as to get a 360 you probably want one with a harddrive and do use its maximum potential, you want a 42'' HDTV, with a surround sound system. Since the Wii doesn't have superb graphics or anything unless you buy component cables, then you can generally use any old CRT TV.
Umm, the Wii will have a better line up then the gamecube had. The GC was a good system with a lot of awesome games, but the wii has all those games included plus all the wii games. Games like no more hereos, red steel, BWii, Wii Sports, Manhunt 2, geometry wars, are just a few of the good games this console has, it has only been out a year and i have already bought more games for it then i did for the GC, and besides, it has the motion controls with make pretty much all the games better, besides games as bad as far cry, or driver. But game like godfather was even really good. Dont doubt this system, Nintendo is taking back the console race, they have been around for the longest of all the console, and dont be suprised if we only see 2 consoles for the next gen, nintendo is getting back all the 3rd party support they lacked for the GC, and the GC was still a good system.
Hmm...that's an easy question for me.

I second this. If you had a GC I guess you wouldn't care that much but for me the Wii lets me do everything the GC did, thus contains all the GC library plus what the Wii is now offering. Wii wins. Your poll though made it look like I had to buy them 'again' which I did not.
Wii kills GC imo.

All i wanted to say is that i had never had a GC, so i can't express my opinion about the system.
I have a Wii, so that's why i voted for.
Sorry if i didn't make myself clear
GC easily. Which isn't so strange...
GC easily. Which isn't so strange...
What do you mean by that?
Im going to definately say wii. For being so early in its lifespan, i think its library is going to blow the gamecubes out of the water. Wii shall see.

GC easily. Which isn't so strange...
What do you mean by that?
The Gamecube released 7 years ago. -_-GC has:
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime 2 Echoes
Wind Waker
Eternal Darkness
F-Zero GX
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Mario Kart DD
Super Mario Sunshine
TimeSplitters 2
Beyond Good %26 Evil
Star Fox Adventures
Resident Evil Remake(s)
Pikmin 1 %26 2
Animal Crossingetc...

Since we're comparing Wiis present lineup to the Gamecubes is in my opinion the Gamecubes superior.
the wii has made a much deeper impact that the gamecube ever did. just look at last years line up. and even though, there arent many games non nintendo fans r looking forward too... mariokart, and SSBB ar HUGE titles and imo enough to carry the wii for a long time. as for ur statement on the lack of valuble experience on the mariokart wii... DS only had 4 player online. wii will have 12. and with slighly added new gameplay mechanics like motorcycles, and trick landings... im assuming that the wii version will be quite different (ina good way) than the ds version. plus, ones a handheld, the other's a console. BIG difference. would u rather play COD4 on ur 360 (or ps3) or on the ds.... i thought so.the one major problem with the GC is the lack of third party support. even though, there r some third party issues with the wii as well, there still vastly more support coming from the third party. as somone mentioned before, there are some title that are moving on to the wii, like monster hunter. also nintendo has ties with the developer that worked on the xenosaga series (correct me if im wrong). once the ps2 is dead, there likely to be better quality 3rd party titles. were even seeing it today with games like NMH and boom blox. lastly, out of nintendo's huge library of franchises. we only got mario, zelda, prime, as well as SSBB, and kart coming this year. we still got a long way to go.
